Finding a research article
Use the NCCC Library Homepage to access "All Library Databases" or access them through links in the box to the right.
The databases will let you limit to a "scholarly" or "peer reviewed" article, which is one of the requirements for your assignment. Some databases will let you limit to a publication type, "Research." You may also limit to a particular source, for example, American Journal of Public Health. There are several titles listed under "Research Assignment Guidelines" that you received from your instructor. And finally, you may limit by publication date in order to retrieve only articles published between 2002 and 2016.
The research article that you need for this class will usually have the following sections:
1. Title page
6. Statistics or data
7. Analysis, Results
8. Discussion, References, Tables, and figures
If you are unsure about the suitablility of an article for this class, please ask a librarian.
The library has access to several databases that may help you find articles in the field of substance abuse.
Please note: for access from off-campus, you must login to each database using your T-Wolves username and password. See the box on the right hand side of this page.
