Most circulating books in the Library circulate for a period of 28 days. They may be renewed one time for an additional loan period. The exception to the 28 day loan is childrens' books, which circulate for 7 days. Reference books do not circulate, but with special permission of the Reference Librarian may be taken out of the library to use during a class presentation.
Current periodicals, the last two issues received, do not leave the library. Older, hard copies may circulate for 7 days. Due to our temporary location for the next two years, periodicals are in a number of spots, many in G209. The library has a limited number of hard copy back issues, as they are quickly available online through the databases, and their storage takes up valuable space. If you are unable to find the periodical you need, please ask the Reference Librarian for help.
The Library offers 15 laptops, 5 MacBooks and 15 iPads for student use within the library. These items may be borrowed for a period of 2 hours, and must be used within the library. In order to use one of these items, you must have a current NCCC ID and a second form of ID, such as a driver's license. These IDs will be kept at the desk until the item is returned.
The library houses digital cameras, camcorders, recorders, Kindles and calculators that circulate. The Digital cameras and recorders may be borrowed for 3 days. Kindles circulate for a 7 day loan period, and calculators may circulate for a 2 hour class period.
The Library has an ever increasing collection of CDs, DVDs and video cassettes, both instructional and recreational. These may be borrowed for a period of 7 days. The CDs, DVDs and Videos are an open access browsing collection kept on the 3rd floor of the Library.
