Welcome: Library Renovation

Welcome to NCCC's Henrietta G. Lewis Library. Find us in our temporary quarters, Rooms G253, G209, and G201.

We've moved temporarily

The Library is currently located on the 2nd floor of G-Building in G209, G201, and G253. This is temporary while D-building undergoes necessary updates and renovations.

Take a look at the design drawings below--we can't wait to move back into our updated building! In the meantime, please bear with our temporary location. It is not ideal but we are trying to make the best of it. We still provide all of our Library services.

Where do I go?

Our new layout can be confusing. If you are looking for:

  • Main library stacks, including most of the circulating collection, go to G209
  • DVDs, audiobooks, and CDs, go to G209
  • Most of the periodicals and magazines, go to G209
  • Course reserves (textbooks and other resources put on hold by your instructor), go to G201
  • Scanners and photocopier, go to G201
  • Laptops, kindles, ipads, and calculators, go to G201
  • Media viewing stations, go to G201
  • Request a study room, go to G201
  • Library computer lab and printers, go to G253
  • Digital media equipment, go to G244
  • Assistance finding books, articles, or any other questions, go to the reference desk which is located between G201 and G253

FYI

Unfortunately, not all of the circulating collection fits into G209. If you cannot locate a book, please contact the Reference Librarian for assistance. The book you are looking for might be in an overflow storage room. We'd be happy to get the book for you. In particular, most Science and Medical-related books are located off the main stacks. You will need a Librarian or staff-member with you to access them. Please ask at the Reference Desk, which is located just outside of G201.

From the Archives

As you’ve discovered by now, the Library is now located on the 2nd floor of G building in G-209 while D-building is being prepared for a large-scale remodel and construction project. However, did you know this isn’t the first time the Library moved? Niagara County Community College was originally located at 430 Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls. This building was formerly the office of Nabisco Shredded Wheat and inspired the College’s nickname, “Nabisco Tech.” The Library, along with the rest of the College moved into the Sanborn campus in 1973. This photograph from the 1960s depicts the Library at the Buffalo Avenue building.

Time for renovation

D-building was constructed in 1972 and is showing its age. It is time to update the space to better serve our students and patrons!
