Librarians do a variety of work, but probably the most important is helping people find just the right information they need, and from credible and reliable sources. College Librarians select the books, music, and movies you can check out. Feel free to ask any of our librarians for help at any time, as there is always a reference librarian on duty whenever the library is open.
Being a librarian requires a master's degree, which means we have lots of education under our belts - 4 years for an undergraduate degee, and 1-2 years for a master's degree. Some librarian jobs require additional training and/or certificates, which means even more school!
College students contact their librarians for help in many different ways. Some students stop by the reference desk to get help in person, while others call, e-mail questions, or use our 24/7 Chat line to talk to a librarian.
