Here are some resources to help you with your research on nuclear and radiation disasters.

Course Reserve Book Titles on Topic

These books can only be used in the library.  You may check out two books at a time for two hours.  Please go to the circulation desk to check out books.  These titles will most likely have a entry on the topic.  If you need help finding the information you are looking for in the book, ask the librarian on duty for help. You can make copies of information.  Ask the circulation desk staff for help copying.

Keywords to Input in Search

To find a wide range of books and articles remember to  add different keywords and combinations when doing an Everything search in box above.  Examples:

  • Type in the name of the disaster
  • nuclear disasters
  • Chernobyl fallout
  • radiation protection
  • Fukushima radiation

On a search results page, click on 'Held by Library' on the left of the screen to see books owned by the NCCC Library.

On a search results page, you can always click on 'Available online' on the left of the screen to get immediate access to electronic articles. 

Also, you can refine the Publication Date to the last few years to see the most recent, relevant research into the topic.

Streaming Video on Topic

Films on Demand database contains video streaming educational films and segments on many topics.

So does the Academic Video Online (AVON) service.

Type in the name of the disaster near the top of the page for results.
