Local History & Genealogy: Maps

A guide to local history and genealogy resources for Niagara County.

Maps

Maps are useful to see how regions have changed through time and provide valuable information to historians and genealogists. Maps can highlight different features of a locality such as geological features, political boundaries, and property ownership.

Most libraries house atlases and maps. Often historic maps are included in local history collections. Check your local library and these agencies listed here: https://libguides.niagaracc.suny.edu/LHA

The Niagara County Clerk's Office manages a collection of property maps. They are available for reference during the Office's business hours.
