Sure, maybe they know where it is, and how to check out a book. At Niagara County Community College, library services go far beyond that.
We offer practical assistance to our students, which will help them master information, research, critical thinking, and problem solving skills that will enrich every aspect of their lives. We have study rooms, laptops, Kindles, and dvds and cds for them to check out of the library. We provide access to the entire SUNY system's libraries, and to streaming video and online databases. When our library is open, we always have a professional librarian with a Master of Library Science Degree to help our students. When we are not open, our participation in the Ask Us 24/7 chat line provides a librarian to help them.
Your students have a wealth of resources and services at their fingertips--they just don't know it!
Let us help. We offer practical Library Instruction to individuals or groups upon request by any faculty member. Along with these traditional introductory sessions, librarians also offer shortened classroom visits as well as follow-up classes. We try to accommodate almost any request, so please ask!

Academic librarians at NCCC offer instruction that caters to the diverse needs and busy schedules of our student population.
We will tailor instruction to the specific course assignments of your class. We are happy to come to your classroom, if you prefer that to bringing your class to us.
Each session is designed to last 50 minutes, but a shortened version can be arranged for classes that only require quick instruction on one skill. Additional follow-up sessions may be scheduled.
