Course Reserves are any material that an instructor has assigned to your class and has placed in the library for easy access. You may search Course Reserves using Aleph to find out what your instructor has placed in the library. To check out items on Course Reserves, go to the Circulation/Reserves Desk and ask for the material. Have your barcoded ID card ready to check out any material. Most Course Reserves are 2 hour loans, unless requested otherwise by the instructor.
Use the Library Catalog to search for Course Reserve materials, such as textbooks.
Laptops, MacBooks, iPads, and Kindles are available at the Circulation/Reserves Desk.
Currently enrolled NCCC students, with no holds (no outstanding library fines or overdue books) on their record, are allowed to check out a laptop on a first-come, first-served basis. A valid NCCC ID card and a second form of picture identification must be presented at the Reserves desk. Laptop computers and MacBooks circulate for two hours and iPads for one week. Reservations are not allowed. Students can access MS Office, the library catalog, library databases, and the Internet. Files may be saved to a personal disk or flash drive. Printing is not available from the laptop.
Kindles are available in the library for a one week circulation period. They are preloaded with a variety of academic and pleasure reading titles.
Stop by the Circulation/Reserves Desk to check them out!
